Steve Abbott – CEO
An aggressive, successful negotiation expert and Founder of Abbott Consulting Group. Steve Abbott has developed a unique, strong talent for managing the firm’s business and clients. He has a profound understanding of state, county, and local government incentives.
Steve has been directly involved in obtaining over $60 million in incentives for his clients. His most recent negotiation success involved a relocation incentives package for 500 jobs – $24,000 in incentives per job was achieved with 50% in cash incentives during the client’s first project year. Steve has played the deciding role in obtaining incentives for clients such as:

- Greenway Products
- Nassau Candy
- Seviroli Foods
Steve completed his undergraduate work at Villanova University where he was an All-American water polo player. Steve has been married for 21 years and has two daughters and a son. He is an avid triathlete.
A result-driven state incentive expert with a proven history of identifying, negotiating, and securing state and local incentives for growing organizations across the U.S. Richard’s experience brings an ability to develop long-lasting client relationships, leading a large number of complex economic development projects and understanding the complete state incentive program lifecycle.
This is Richard’s second round working with CEO Steve Abbott, and it’s proven to be nothing short of a success for both the growth of Abbott Consulting Group but, more importantly, for our clients.
Richard completed his studies at Fairfield University. When he is not trying to better his golf game, he enjoys spending time with his wife of over 25 years and three daughters.
A seasoned professional with over 30 years’ experience as a senior financial executive for industry leaders designing and manufacturing products for commercial architectural applications. As a former client of Abbott Consulting Group, Rick, on multiple occasions, experienced the value of partnering with a professional in the government incentive space. Abbott Consulting Group’s expertise resulted in funding key initiatives to improve profitability and cash flow.
Rick’s experience makes him well positioned to assist companies to realize similar benefits available from Federal, State and Local agencies.
Rick holds a BA in business administration from Kent State University is a CPA. Rick has been married for 30+ years and has two sons.
After moving to California in 2001, Sean worked in restaurant management and film production for over 10 years, primarily focused on leaning out budgets and streamlining work processes. He then began a Fitness and Nutrition Company in Southern California.
Because of his experience running businesses in California and his familiarity with state incentive programs along the West Coast, Sean was a perfect fit for Abbott Consulting Group’s needs for representation in California. He opened ACG’s Los Angeles office in 2015.
Sean graduated from the George Washington University and is an avid tennis player.
